Me: But I don’t know what to paaaiiinnt! I can’t think of anything deep and meaningful!
Teacher: You don’t have to, it’s how you paint it that we’re looking at.
Me: Wait, so, I can paint something that is incredibly shallow and not-meaningful, as long as I show that I can convey meanings through superior painting skills/techniques?

Explaining art to those who don’t/won’t understand is like trying to describe colour to the blind. They can grasp the idea of greatness and wonder, but in the end, they’re still left in the dark, never totally able to grasp what you’re trying to describe.
